Hello humans!

As I'm currently recovering from surgery, I asked a friend if I could borrow a book by an author she recommended to me a while ago. The book she lent me was Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto.

This book was absolutely amazing! The way Yoshimoto shapes her stories makes you completely fall in love with each and every character and their diverse lives.

As I'm against posting spoilers, I won't go into detail about the plot here, but I will at least give you a short summary.

The blurb reads:

"Kitchen juxtaposes two tales about mothers, transsexuality, bereavement, kitchens, love and tragedy in contemporary Japan. it is a startlingly original work by Japan's brightest young literary star and is now a cult film."

I 10/10 would recommend this book to anyone who likes unusual stories that catch you by surprise.
